Alex Wolfe Promoted to Editor of InformationWeek.com

Site Continues To Experience Outstanding Growth in Traffic and Site Visitors

Dec 18, 2007

Manhasset, NY, December 18, 2007 CMP’s Business Technology Group (BTG) today announced that Alex Wolfe has been promoted to Editor of InformationWeek.com, the premier online destination for technology professionals to research and get up to speed on the latest business technology news, perspective and trends.

Wolfe’s outstanding track record at InformationWeek.com has helped to grow the site’s traffic to 1.8 million unique visitors a month. Wolfe’s provocative articles and blogs, including a blog called Wolfe’s Den, have helped to accelerate the site’s popularity among business technology decision-makers. In 2007, InformationWeek.com experienced a 40% increase in page views, equating to 4.5 million page views per month.

Driving this substantial traffic growth are InformationWeek.com blogs, where InformationWeek continues to set the standard when it comes to open dialogs between the brand’s expert voices and its millions of visitors. InformationWeek.com blogs draws more than 580,000 page views a month, representing 13% of all traffic to InformationWeek.com.

All this comes at a time when InformationWeek.com's sister magazine continues to grow its reach to business technology decision-makers. According to the recent Fall 2007 IntelliQuest CIMS study, InformationWeek Magazine reaches more IT management than any other IT publication1.

Prior to this position, Wolfe was Executive Editor of InformationWeek.com. Earlier, Wolfe was the Executive Editor for TechSearch. Wolfe has been a technology editor for over 20 years, reporting on the computer industry for EE Times, IEEE Spectrum, Byte.com and TechWeb.com.   Wolfe earned a bachelor's of engineering degree at Cooper Union in New York.

“Alex's promotion to Editor of InformationWeek.com is an example of our steadfast commitment to providing the best enterprise IT editorial product in the marketplace,” said John Siefert, Vice President/Publisher of InformationWeek. “He is highly respected in the industry and is vital in delivering the keen analysis that makes InformationWeek.com so unique,” he continued.
