Chris Satchell, general manager of the game developer group, Microsoft Xbox, and John Cahill, director, mobile games, Yahoo!, will deliver keynote addresses at the 2005 Game Developers Conference Europe (GDC Europe). The event is scheduled from Tuesday - Thursday, Aug. 30 - Sept. 1, 2005 at London's Cafe Royal at Le Meridien Hotel.

In response to the explosive growth of the mobile market, John Cahill's keynote, Yahoo! Games Gone Mobile: The Power of Connected Communities, will examine Yahoo! Games mobile strategy, including a case study of Yahoo! Poker, a multiplayer cross platform title, which lets mobile phone gamers play against those on their PCs. The keynote, set for Tuesday, Aug. 30, will demonstrate to attendees how to harness the power of tens of millions of online gamers to drive the adoption of their mobile games.

With next-generation consoles on the horizon, Chris Satchell will provide insight into how game developers can successfully approach the new era of interactive entertainment. The keynote, which will take place on Sept. 1, will offer information on market trends, methods of increasing productivity and how to transition into next generation game creation.

"Two challenges game creators face are adapting their technology and team structures for the next generation of console games, and finding innovative ways to migrate their current expertise across mobile, online connections," said Jamil Moledina, conference director, GDC Europe. "In keeping with GDC's tradition of delivering mission-critical guides to emerging trends these two keynotes provide first-hand, practical insights from key industry leaders in exactly how to overcome these challenges"

The GDC Europe is the core event for game development professionals in Europe who wish to shape the industry and expand the resources, tools and technologies they use to create next generation games. The conference will build upon the Future Vision theme, recently unveiled at the 2005 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco this past March. Through three days of lectures, keynotes, panels, and tutorials, GDC Europe will focus on the road ahead for developers.

Registration is now open and discounts on passes will be available until Aug. 3. For more information on GDC Europe 2005, please visit http://www.gdceurope.com/index.htm.
