CMP Media Inc. Names Robert Faletra Vice President/Editorial Director, Channel Group

Editor-in-Chief of Computer Reseller News Appointed Head of Editorial Operations for all of CMP's Channel Group Print and Online Products

CMP Media announced that Robert Faletra, Editor-in-Chief of Computer Reseller News, has been promoted to Vice President/Editorial Director, CMP Channel Group. The announcement came during Comdex at CMP's annual breakfast meeting last week in Las Vegas. In his new position, Faletra will head up editorial operations for all CMP Channel Group products including print and on-line offerings.

"In his seven years with the publication, Bob has done a great job ushering Computer Reseller News into new, strategic areas of coverage," said John Russell, Vice President/Group Publisher of the CMP Channel Group. "With his crisp understanding of the channel and of how to assemble a group of journalists, artists and production personnel, there isn't a person who works harder or is more deserving of increased responsibility and recognition," he added.

Faletra has had a long, impressive and successful career at CMP. He joined the company in 1989 from PC Week, where he was a senior business editor. Prior to that, he worked as a daily newspaper reporter for seven years. He started his CMP career as a Senior Writer for Computer Reseller News, and was promoted to Executive Editor in 1990. Under Bob's leadership in the top editorial post at Computer Reseller News, the newspaper received consecutive best newspaper title awards from the Computer Press Association for the past two years, as well as a nod from Folio: Magazine in 1993 as best specialized computing newspaper.

Faletra will retain his Editor-in-Chief title and duties at Computer Reseller News. He will report to John Russell.
