Louis Freeh, Former Director of the FBI, to Kick Off 30th Annual Computer Security Conference Nov. 3-5 in Washington, D.C.

On November 3-5, 2003, 2500 security professionals from around the world will gather at Computer Security Institute's (CSI's) 30th Annual Computer Security Conference & Exhibition at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. The event will feature speakers from key government agencies as well as leading security professionals from the private sector. They will provide attendees with critical insight and information on how to counteract and defend against threats to their information systems.

Louis Freeh, former director of the FBI (1993-2001), will kick off the conference on Monday, November 3, delivering compelling advice on how to confront the complex security and privacy issues facing the world today. He also will explain how both businesses and government can benefit from public/private partnerships that address evolving security concerns.

On Tuesday, November 4, Scott O. Hastings, CIO of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (BICE), will share with conference delegates how he is facing the challenge of his life -- transitioning a technologically dated department into one of the most important government agencies, the Department of Homeland Security. He will focus on the role of computer security in businesses and government agencies.

Jessica L. Rich of the Federal Trade Commission will be the featured speaker on Wednesday, November 5. She will discuss the FTC's general approach to consumer privacy issues, including recent FTC cases and the Gramm-Leach Bliley Safeguards Rule.

This year's conference offers 14 tracks and more than 160 sessions designed to help security and IT professionals navigate the challenges presented by wireless technology, global computer crime, new government regulations and much more. The Security Exhibition will be open November 2-4. It will feature 175 of the industry's leading and up-and-coming vendors.
