CMP Media's EE Times, a premier electronics industry news source, announces the launch of EE Times.de (http://www.eetimes.de/), a German language online news edition focused on the information needs of all German speaking electronics engineers and managers. The web site will feature daily news stories, new product information and design tutorials starting in early 2003. A weekly e-mail newsletter service will debut in December 2002.

"We are quite pleased to make this historic announcement at Electronica," said Paul Miller, EE Times publisher and VP/managing director of CMP's Electronics Group. "Even during these challenging economic times, we have chosen to invest our resources in key growth markets around the world."

Over the next several months, EE Times also will launch a local language web site for France. The new site will complement the newly improved EETUK.com site. Each local language site will have its own, dedicated editorial staff. Expansion into other key global markets will be rolled out later in 2003. "Once again, we are responding to the information needs of the global electronics engineering industry. We have the largest (more than 50), most experienced network of international editors covering this industry in the language our audience prefers," said Richard Wallace, CMP Electronics Group, VP/Editorial Director.

EE Times' other local online editions include EETAsia.com, EETChina.com, EETKorea.com and EETTaiwan.com. The EE Times Network also has specialized online web sites such as CommsDesign.com, EEdesign.com, Embedded.com, Planet Analog, Semiconductor Business News and The Work Circuit, averaging more than six million page views and reaching more than one million unique visitors each month.*
