During September and October 2004, ITS tested and verified that the XML Guardian Gateway can sustain XML Signatures or Encryption at over 1,700 transactions per second on small 2KB documents and support very large documents up to 50MB. For XML transformation and validation, the XML Speedway demonstrated performance exceeding 6,000 transactions per second, 800 Mbps throughput, and capable of processing 300MB XML documents. "Using real world test cases, we tested XML Web services security and acceleration at very high transaction rates and widely diverse sizes using a single Sarvega appliance against ten dual-processor Pentium 4 Xeon servers.
