CMP Media and Microsoft Corporation Introduce MSDN Magazine to Software Developers in the Asia-PacificPRNewswire-FirstCall CMP Media, a leading integrated media company serving the technology, healthcare and music markets, and Microsoft Corporation have introduced MSDN Magazine, The Microsoft Journal for Developers, to the professional software developer market in the Asia-Pacific region through a licensing arrangement with Charlton Media Group. Charlton Media Group will produce MSDN Magazine Asia Pacific (APAC) series for English-speaking developers. The MSDN Magazine APAC series will consist of three titles: MSDN Magazine Asia, MSDN Magazine Australia New Zealand, and MSDN Magazine India. Kerry Gates, Publisher of MSDN Magazine, and her sales staff will manage advertising sales for companies based outside of Asia-Pacific (primarily the Americas and Europe). "This is a great opportunity to expand the MSDN Magazine brand internationally, specifically in a region that IDC predicts will grow to have the largest concentration of developers by 2007." Charlton Media Group will manage advertising sales within the Asia-Pacific region. MSDN Magazine APAC series will be distributed bimonthly in English and will consist of editorial content from MSDN Magazine U.S. edition combined with eight pages of localized developer news and views as well as technical content. Grant Duers, Editorial Director of MSDN Magazine, said, "Our editorial goal at MSDN Magazine has always been to reach and educate as many Microsoft developers as we can. The MSDN Magazine APAC series is a great extension to the MSDN Magazine brand and will help to continue our goal of getting our content in the hands of developers who need cutting-edge information on Microsoft technologies." The initial circulation is 25,000, which will be a mix of controlled and paid subscribers (based on the highly successful MSDN Connections programs in the region) as well as newsstand sales. The first issue is scheduled to be on newsstands September 2004. For advertising information, please contact David Timmons, dtimmons@cmp.com, 785-838-7573.
